KB Home (NYSE:KBH) CEO Jeffrey Mezger is having his bonus cut over a rant at comedian Kathy Griffin.
Audio from security cameras caught the KB Home CEO shouting a string of slurs at Kathy Griffin and her boyfriend on Saturday night. This includes calling her a “cunt,” a “bitch,” a “fucking bald dyke,” and several other profanities.
In response to Jeffrey Mezger’s outburst on Saturday, KB Home’s says that it is decreasing his year-end bonus by 25%. The company also notes that it will fire Mezger if something like this happens again.
The KB Home CEO has released an official statement concerning the matter and has apologized for his language. However, he notes that the conflict between him an his neighbors came after several “unneighborly actions” from Kathy Griffin and her boyfriend. This includes multiple visits from police due to noise complaints filed by the two, reports CNBC.
According to the Huffington Post, Kathy Griffin and her boyfriend started filing noise complaints against the KB Homes CEO shortly after moving into the home next to his a year ago. The publication also claims to have previous audio recording of Jeffrey Mezger shouting slurs at the two.
Reports claim that Jeffery Mezger was dismissive of the initial noise complaints from Kathy Griffin and her boyfriend. There are claims that he told the homeowner’s association that the two would have to “adapt” as he doesn’t often hold parties at his home. A formal police report wasn’t filed for the most recent conflict between the neighbors.
