Spotify and Hulu have partnered up to launch a $5 deal.
Not everyone is eligible for the deal, but it will appease many young, broke people looking for entertainment in their busy lives once they get a moment of respite. Here are seven things to know about the plan:
- The monthly $5 payment will net you the commercial-free version of Spotify and the paid “Limited Commercials” version of Hulu.
- Getting these plans individually would set you back nearly $18 per month.
- The “Spotify Premium for Students, now with Hulu” plan was announced Thursday. As the name states, it can only be accessed by college students for now.
- Between the two services, you will get premium access to award-winning shows, entire cable and network series, a number of popular films and roughly four million songs.
- You will be able to save up to 3,333 songs to your Spotify library, which are available for offline use.
- The partnership makes a lot of sense as college students often find it difficult to pay $20 or more a month for their music, film and TV entertainment across several accounts.
- The integration of the two services may be just the beginning as Spotify and Hulu may eventually decide to expand their partnership by adding a similar service for older and younger audiences seeking to save a few bucks.
You can sign up here if you are a student at an accredited college or university.
