The new AI system from Toyota will allow the car to control various aspects for its passengers. This includes adjusting the climate inside of the vehicle and changing how it drives. The company says this will allow the vehicle to better service its passengers.

It looks like Toyota’s current plans are to start testing out the new AI system in 2020. It will likely start showing up in commercial cars in the years following these tests. The system will first see testing in the company’s Concept-i line of vehicles.

The Concept-i line include three different vehicles from the company. This includes the Concept-i Ride, which is a vehicle built to hold two people. The Concept-i is a larger vehicle and there’s also the Concept-i Walk, which looks like a Segway with three wheels. The new AI and vehicles are being shown off at the Tokyo Motor Show this week, Autocar notes.

“Concept-i estimates emotion and level of alertness by reading the driver’s expressions, actions, and tone of voice in a complex manner,” Toyota says in a statement. “It compares general information such as news on the web with information on individuals such as social media activity, GPS information, and conversation history in the car, and estimates the driver’s preferences based on re-occurring topics that arise.”
