Here are your Apple Rumors for today:
Preorders: Those that preordered Apple’s (AAPL) iPad Air 2 or mini 3 have received alerts as to when the items will be delivered, reports 9to5Mac. Several customers that preordered one of the new devices on day one have been told that they will be delivered on Oct. 22 or 23. Others who preordered the devices following this have been told that their devices could arrive anytime between Oct. 22 and Oct. 27.
Rewards: It’s rumored that Apple may release a rewards program for Apple Pay in time for the holiday season, MacRumors notes. Rewards weren’t expected to come to Pay until October 2015. This would have had them being added with the launch of Pay 2.0. However, it’s rumored that merchants wanted the feature earlier and the company pushed the feature up to comply with these desires. Rumors claim that parts of the rewards system would see buyers having the option to click on ads to purchase items.
Cores: A benchmark test that claims to be for the A8X chip in the iPAd Air 2 shows off three cores, reports AppleInsider. The benchmark test was posted online and claims to have come from data that was made available to developers. A separate test that also claims to be for the iPad Air 2 lists the device as having 2GB of RAM. While these benchmark tests can’t be confirmed until the device is released, they do match up with a possible logic board for the iPad Air 2 that was leaked earlier this year.
