Apple (AAPL) may be looking to add the Beats Music app to all devices running iOS as early as 2015.

apple-beats-music-aaplApple may be looking to take out the competition early by adding Beats Music to its iOS devices. Having the app already installed on a device out of the box may be enough to sway owners into using it. However, a similar move of adding iTunes Radio into the iTunes app didn’t work out for the company, reports Cnet.

“Subscription hasn’t yet gone mainstream, and it is the future of the music business – so anything that Apple can do to take it to scale as quickly as possible is going to be extremely valuable,”  an unnamed source from a major record label told Rolling Stone. “Apple didn’t do downloads first, but they did downloads the best.”

A Beats Music subscription currently costs $9.99 a month, but there is a rumor that Apple may drop the price to $5 a month.

It’s also possible that owners of a device equipped with TouchID could use the feature to pay for their Beats Music subscription, Cnet notes.
