The Apple patent was approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office and is titled “Flexible electronic devices.” The patent contains concepts of a bendable iPhone that wouldn’t suffer negatively from being bent, reports ZDNet.

The bendable iPhone would be made up of a flexible display, battery and circuit board. The plans even include details that would offer higher amounts of flexibility for certain areas. The smartphone would also be more resistant to damage from falls due to its flexibility, ZDNet notes.

Apple’s bendable iPhone concept isn’t specific to the company. The LG

G Flex2 was recently shown off at CES. The smartphone comes with a curved screen and its case it made of a self-healing plastic. It’s not quite what Apple has in mind, but it’s a start, reports Telegraph.
