Basic materials stocks rose broadly on Wall Street on Monday, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 1.1%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average pushed 0.8% higher, the Nasdaq climbed 0.7% and the S&P 500 was up 0.8%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Calgon Carbon Corp (CCC): CCC stock is up 3.7% today.

• Cabot Corp (CBT): CBT stock is up 3.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Graphic Packaging Holding Company (GPK): GPK stock is up 3.2% today.

• Encore Wire Corp (WIRE): WIRE stock is up 3.2% today.

• Berry Plastics Group Inc (BERY): BERY stock is up 3.2% today.

• Quaker Chemical Corp (KWR): KWR stock is up 3.2% today.

• Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD): SSD stock is up 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Universal Forest Products (UFPI): UFPI stock is up 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Trex Company (TREX): TREX stock is up 2.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Aptargroup (ATR): ATR stock is up 2.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is down 2.2% today.

• Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN): BVN stock is down 2.3% today.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is down 2.1% today.

• Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW): SLW stock is down 1.9% today.

• Royal Gold (RGLD): RGLD stock is down 1.3% today.

• National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is down 0.9% today.

• Randgold Resources Limited (GOLD): GOLD stock is down 1.0% today.

• Valhi Inc (VHI): VHI stock is down 0.8% today.

• Stillwater Mining Company (SWC): SWC stock is down 0.9% today.

• Terra Nitrogen Company L.P. (TNH): TNH stock is down 0.5% today.
