GOOG: Google Bans Porn Ads From Search Results

Google (GOOG) is no longer allowing adult companies to take out porn ads in its search results.

Google  has alerted companies that may be at risk of breaking these policies to the changes, which went into effect on Monday, CNBC notes.

Those inside the adult industry were surprised by Google’s change in policy when it comes to advertisements. Theo Sapoutzis, chairman and CEO of AVN Media Network, said that the change was unexpected because the company’s policies for search advertisements hadn’t changed much in the last 12 years, reports CNBC.

The ban of porn advertisements in its search results isn’t the only move Google has made against the adult industry. The tech giant also banned accounts on its Blogger network that promote and advertised pornography last year, KPRC Houston notes.
