Contact: Apple (AAPL) has devised a way to secure payments made via the Apple Watch without the use of a TouchID sensor, reports MacRumors. The new wearable tech will only allow users to make mobile payments so long as it’s touching skin. The system works by having users enter a PIN when they put the Watch on to authorize payments made with it. The device uses four sensors on its back to confirm that there is skin contact. If contact is lost, the device requires the users to enter their PIN again before purchases can be made via the device.

Delay: Apple may have to delay the release of the iPhone 6 and it’s Pluz-sized sibling in China due to regulatory issues, 9to5Mac notes. The tech company hasn’t given a reason as to why the delay is occurring, but it will leave China as one of the countries not getting the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus on September 19. The rumored cause behind the delay is that the Chinese regulators just haven’t approved the devices yet. This will likely leave many carriers turning away customers as promotional material for a September 19 release has already been put up in many stores.

Liquidmetal: Apple is still looking at different ways to melt and mold Liquidmetal for the manufacturing of its devices, reports AppleInisder. Several new plans for how to melt and use Liquidmetal were revealed in a patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday. The patent was filed by Apple in May and is titled “Methods of melting and introducing amorphous alloy feedstock for casting and processing.” One way that the patent describes using Liquidmetal involves running the material down a tube that would work similar to a glue gun.
