German logistics company DHL will test a drone delivery system on Friday.

The company will use a pilotless aircraft weighing just under three pounds to deliver medicine to the remote German island of Juist.

DHL expects the flight to take up to 30 minutes and it would mark the first unmanned drone without a pilot on the ground. The company plans on only using the technology to deliver small packages to remote locations such as Juist.

Deliveries will take place twice a day assuming weather doesn’t intervene. Friday’s drone delivery could be delayed due to high winds.

The German company is following in the footsteps of American giants Amazon (AMZN) and Google (GOOG) in testing unmanned drone delivery systems. Amazon is running tests in Canada while Google is doing the same in Australia.

AMZN stock is down about 1.75% Thursday afternoon. GOOG stock is down about 1.9%.
