Facebook (FB) is reportedly working on a new app that will allow people more privacy when sharing information.

fb-facebook-momentsThe new Facebook app is being referred to as ‘Moments”. It reportedly allows users to share media and statuses with a select group of people. The app is linked to another app called Cluster and features a grid design that allows users to select different groups of people to share with by tapping on them, reports TechCrunch.

According to TechCrunch, Moments is being tested internally by Facebook employees and they are currently searching for bugs in the app. While the app is being tested, there’s no guarantee that it will ever be released. Other services worked on by the social media company in the past haven’t been released.

Even if Facebook doesn’t release the moments app, it’s possible that it will still use what it has learned during the app’s development and apply it to its main website and apps. This could speed up how easily users can share information with a certain group of individuals on the social media website.

FB shares were up slightly as of Wednesday afternoon.
