‘Transparent’ Season 2: Amazon Renews Series After Just One Week

Amazon’s (AMZN) Transparent, an original comedy, is getting a second season after only being available for about a week.

amazon-transparent-season-2-amazon-prime-instant-amznAmazon announced that Transparent will be getting a second season that will air in 2015. The show is currently the most binge-watched TV series on Prime Instant Video. 80% of users that watch the show sit through at least two episodes.

Transparent is currently ranked number one on Amazon Prime Instant Video and has held that rank since its launch. The company notes that it has ben popular with both critics and viewers. It also has a 98% fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 91 on Metacritic.

“We are absolutely thrilled that the response to Transparent has been so positive,” Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios, said in a statement. “Our goal is to create series that customers love, so it’s great to hear that Transparent has not only risen to the no. 1 series on Prime Instant Video, but that it’s deemed ‘binge worthy’ as well. Given all this great feedback, it only makes sense to bring the Pfeffermans back next year in season two.”
