Better Business Bureau Gives Uber, Lyft an “F”

Better Business Bureau has issued an “F” rating to car services Uber and Lyft.

Better Business BureauThe website has received more than 100 complaints from Uber customers and only four from Lyft customers. One of Better Business Bureau‘s main reason for giving both services an “F” is the fact that they are not “BBB Credited.”

BBB received complaints regarding “surge pricing,” which refers to fluctuating rates that vary based on circumstances. For example, some New Year’s Eve passengers had to pay as much as triple as the usual rate to get home.

In order to be credited by the website, businesses must commit to solving consumer complaints. Accredited businesses must also pay a fee to cover monitoring and support from Better Business Bureau.
