  • The man diagnosed with the virus came to the US from Liberia on a commercial flight that landed in Dallas, Texas.
  • He didn’t show symptoms before or during his flight.
  • The man landed in the US on September 20 and was diagnosed with Ebola on September 30.
  • He didn’t start showing symptoms of Ebola until September 24.
  • Passengers that were on the flight with the man are safe as the virus only becomes contagious when symptoms start showing up.

Others that have brought Ebola to the US include health workers and aids from foreign countries. These cases are different from the current one because they were diagnosed while outside of the US and returned for treatment. All of them have survived the virus, The Washington Post notes.
