Basic materials stocks rose broadly on Wall Street so far on Tuesday, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 1.3%.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 1.0%, the Nasdaq was up 1.3% and the S&P 500 pushed 1.0% higher.
Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:
- United States Steel Corp (X): X stock is up 7.9% today.
- AK Steel Holding Corp (AKS): AKS stock is up 7.0%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Celanese Corp (CE): CE stock is up 5.7%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Carlisle Companies Inc (CSL): CSL stock is up 5.6%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Century Aluminum Company (CENX): CENX stock is up 4.9%, marking the sixth consecutive day the stock has increased.
- New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is up 4.2% today.
- Steel Dynamics (STLD): STLD stock is up 3.3% today.
- Arcelormittal (MT): MT stock is up 3.5% today.
- Huntsman Corp (HUN): HUN stock is up 3.5% today.
- Westlake Chemical Corp (WLK): WLK stock is up 3.2% today.

- Graphic Packaging Holding Company (GPK): GPK stock is down 6.7% today.
- Kaiser Aluminum Corp (KALU): KALU stock is down 5.5% today.
- Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is down 2.2% today.
- Gerdau S.A. (GGB): GGB stock is down 2.2% today.
- National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is down 0.9% today.
- Syngenta Ag (SYT): SYT stock is down 0.9% today.
- Schweitzer-Mauduit International (SWM): SWM stock is down 0.1% today.
- Sigma-Aldrich Corp (SIAL): SIAL stock is down 0.5% today.
- Copene-Petroquimica Do Nordeste (BAK): BAK stock is down 0.4% today.
