Sony is now in talks with Michael Fassbender to play the role of Steve Jobs in the upcoming feature. The biopic would include three moments from Apple’s history that Jobs played an important role in. These moments are the announcement of the Mac, the NeXT Computer and the iPod. Both Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale were also considered for the role and there are rumors that Seth Rogen will play Steve Wozniak.

Patent: The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Apple a patent for a wireless device that navigates Apple TV with gestures, AppleInsider notes. The patent is titled “Scrolling Displayed Objects Using a 3D Remote Controller in a Media System.” It gives details concerning a system that would allow users to make gestures with a wand-like device that is filled with sensors. The want could also include a touchscreen to make navigation easier. The patent was filed in 2007 and Apple has been known to be working on such a device since 2009.

iOS: The first beta for Apple’s iOS 8.1.1 has been released, reports 9to5Mac. The new iOS 8.1.1 beta claims to offer several bug fixes to devices that use it. It also includes changes to the operating system that will allegedly help stability and performance on iPad 2 and iPhone 4s. The beta is limited to developers and works with the iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, the fourth-generation iPad, the iPad mini, the third-generation iPad, the iPad 2, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the iPhone 5, 5s, 5c, the iPhone 4S and the fifth-generation iPod Touch.
