Friday Apple Rumors: New Safari Betas Available for OS X

apple-rumors-safari-betas-os-xiPhone: A survey of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus customers sheds some light on which of Apple’s (AAPL) phones is more preferred by customers, MacRumors notes. The data shows that three times as many customers bought the iPhone 6 as what bought the 6 Plus during the first 30 days of its release. The survey also revealed that 91% of people that owned an iPhone upgraded to either an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. The study also asked people about their intentions to buy an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and 40% said they had plans to within the next year.

Betas

: Apple has released a series of betas for its Safari web browser on several of its operating systems, AppleInsider notes. New Safari betas for OS X Yosemite, OS X Mavericks and OS X Mountain Lion. The betas are currently only available to developers and Apple is asking that they test some of the software’s features. The tech company wants to test out syncing capabilities between different versions of the software on different operating systems. It also wants to see how Safari deals with importing passwords and usernames from Firefox.

Storage: One iPad mini owner tested his 16GB iPad mini to see how much data it could really hold, reports BGR. The owner of the iPad mini completely wiped the device before upgrading it to iOS 8. After upgrading to the operating system, the owner reported that the device still had 12.73GB of storage left. He then went on to download all of the recommended apps from Apple. After this, he was left with just 8.27GB. This is almost half of what the device claims to be able to store on its box.
