walmart-price-matching-scam-ps4The Walmart price-matching scam was conducted by several individuals that used Amazon (AMZN) to create cheap deals on the PS4 consoles. The scammers set up Amazon accounts with PS4 consoles listed at $90. They then took a screenshot of the deal and used it to match prices at the brick-and-mortar retailer, reports PCWorld.

It’s unknown how many people got the Walmart price-matching scam to work, but it was enough for the company to take notice and change its policies. It now no longer allows price-matching with third-party sellers on sites like Amazon. Several users posted pictures of their successful scams to social media, PCWorld notes.

While the PS3 was the main target in the Walmart price-matching scam, there were also reports of scammers getting their hands on Microsoft’s (MSFT) Xbox One consoles for $100.
