Apple CEO Tim Cook Speaks Out Against BBC Allegations

Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook is refuting BBC allegations that it supports poor working conditions.

Tim Cook told BBC that is disagrees with the allegations made by BBC in its new documentary. The company said that it knows of “no other company doing as much as Apple to ensure fair and safe working conditions.” Cook also said that the company will investigate the evidence presented by BBC, reports CNBC.

According to the BBC documentary, workers at the company’s supply chains would fall asleep while on 12-hour shifts. One undercover reporter claims that he was forced to work for 18 days straight despite requests for days off, CNBC notes.

Following the BBC allegations against Apple, a letter was sent to 5,00 employees in the U.K. In the letter, Senior Vice-President of Operations Jeff Williams said that he and Tim Cook were “”deeply offended” by the BBC’s claims, reports CNBC.
