Dunkin Brands’s (DNKN) “Cronut”, a croissant donut, is a hit with customers.

The Cronut isn’t an original idea by Dunkin’ Donuts. The item was created by Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York and is now trademarked by them. However, it didn’t take long for other restaurants to start making copycats. Dunkin’s version of the Cronut costs $2.49, CNBC notes.

Along with the Cronut, Dunkin’ Donuts said that it will also keep selling the holiday wreath doughnut and the holiday star doughnut through 2014, reports The Boston Globe.
