apple-rumors-12-inch-macbook-air-images-aaplChina: Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook may let the Chinese government conduct security inspections on the company’s products, reports MacRumors. The reason behind the security inspections would be to discover any type of backdoor that could have users information taken from the device without their knowing. The security inspections were allegedly agreed upon by Cook and China State Internet Information Office director Lu Wei when they met last year.

Security: Exploits in Apple’s OS X have been revealed by Google’s (GOOG) Project Zero, AppleInsider notes. Project Zero reported the exploits to Apple in October and released them publicly 90 days later, which is part of its policies. One of the exploits has already been fixed and another will be taken care of with the release of OS X 10.10.2. The exploits can’t be used remotely and would require a person to already have access to one of the devices to take advantage of them.

MacBook: Possible images of the rumored 12-inch MacBook Air have leaked online, reports BGR. The images aren’t of a complete MacBook Air and are instead of a display and lid for the device. The leaked images also show that the new MacBook Air may switch the translucent plastic logo out in favor of a solid metal one. This is similar to the logos found on iOS devices. The images compare the display and lid to a current MacBook Air and an iPad Air.
