NASCAR News: Jeff Gordon Announces Retirement Plans

NASCAR star Jeff Gordon announced his retirement from the sport after 2015.

The 43-year-old athlete says his professional career will end after this year. However, he he may still compete in selected events but he currently has no plans to do so.

Gordon had an impressive 2014, winning four races and finishing sixth overall for the season. The racer has won four championships (1995, 1997, 1998, 2001).

“I thought long and hard about my future this past year and during the offseason, and I’ve decided 2015 will be the last time I compete for a championship,” he said.

Jeff Gordon is third in career Sprint Cup wins (92) and second in all-time in top ten appearances with 454.
