Lululemon Founder Dennis ‘Chip’ Wilson Resigns From Board

Lululemon Athletica (NASDAQ:LULU) founder Dennis ‘Chip’ Wilson has resigned from the company’s board.

The company is named Kit & Ace and makes machine washable cashmere clothing. He still owns roughly 8% of LULU shares, the Associated Press notes.

Chip Wilson founded Luluemon in 1998. The company was the center of a controversy in 2014 over the sheerness of their yoga pants. Following comments regarding the pants and the people wearing them, Wilson resigned from being the company’s chairman, reports the Associated Press.

“I believe that now is the right time to step away,” Chip Wilson told Reuters.

LULU shares were down 1% as of Monday afternoon.
