Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) has updated its policies in a stab at “revenge porn”.

twitter-revenge-pornTwitter’s new policy doesn’t allow intimate photos to be shared on its service without consent. The social media company is likely hoping that this policy change will help cut down on revenge porn, which is nude or sexual media of a past partner that is typically posted after the relationship has ended, reports CNNMoney.

Twitter says that it has a team dedicated to removing revenge porn from its website. It said that it will remove images once the victim has notified them of the problem and that it will suspend accounts that post the content, Wired notes.

Twitter isn’t the only one looking to tackle revenge porn. A few states have passed laws that make the action illegal and Reddit also came out against it with new policies, reports CNNMoney.
