10 of the Most-Viewed YouTube Videos Ever 2015

Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOG) YouTube is celebrating its 10th anniversary and ‘InvestorPlace’ is remembering it with 10 of the most-viewed YouTube videos of all time.

YouTube started way back in 2005 when co-founder Jawed Karim posted the first-ever YouTube video. That video, which features Karim at the zoo talking about elephants, has gone viral with over 21 million views. It doesn’t last long, about 20 seconds, but it kicked off the video-sharing website that we know today.

Numa Numa is another YouTube classic. The video has a guy lip syncing to Haiducii’s Dragostea Din Tei. It was posted on August 14, 2006 and has over 56 million views.

Most-Viewed YouTube Videos — Harlem Shake

There were a slew of YouTube videos set to Baauer’s Harlem Shake, but the one from the Norwegian Army really stands out. It has over 107 million views and was posted on February 10, 2013.

David After Dentist showed the world a kid still under the effects of anaesthesia after having dental work done. This video was posted on January 30, 2009 and has over 128 million views.

The official release of Let It Go on YouTube has more than 442 million views, but it’s the various covers and parodies that really shined. One such cover that was posted on February 13, 2014 is performed by the One Voice Children’s Choir and has more than 65 million views.

This video is an autotuned mash-up of Antoine Dodson’s message on a local news channel after the attempted rape of his sister. It was posted on July 31, 2010 and has over 126 million views.

Chocolate Rain was posted by Tay Zonday on April 22, 2007. His deep voice and habit of moving away from the mic to breath helped this video rise to viral levels. It has more than 101 million views.
