Roku is adding a number of updates including voice search to the device.
The hardware’s remote now comes with a microphone that allows you to search for movies TV shows, actors, directors or channels by simply speaking into it. The remote will not be sold separately.
Roku is also offering over-the-air updates that will improve the system’s search capabilities. You can now search for channels by name in the Roku Channel Store.
A new interface is being launched as well, designed to highlight new movie releases that may not be available for streaming quite yet. The system then notifies you when one of these is released on a Roku channel.
There’s also a firmware update will speed up the device’s performance.
The updates will be available by the end of April.
