Here are your Apple Rumors for today:

apple-rumors-privaris-aaplCare: Apple (AAPL) has updated its AppleCare+ product care policy for its mobile devices, reports AppleInsider. The new policy makes it so that customers can bring their devices in for repair if their battery can’t hold as much as 80% of its original charge. This is an increase over the previous policy, that only offered a free battery replacement if the device could only hold 50% of its original charge.

Battery: Apple Watch users are about to get a new strap option to increase its battery life, 9to5Mac notes. The new strap is called “Reserve Strap” and its developers promise that it will add more than 30 hours to the Watch’s battery life. The Reserve Strap will take advantage of the smartwatch’s hidden port to provide it with battery power. The strap will come in black, white and grey and is expected to be released in November for $249.

Patents: Apple may be looking to buy Virginia-based Privaris, reports CNN. Rumors that the tech company is looking to acquire the company are based on the fact that 26 of its 31 patents have been transferred over to AAPL. The majority of Privaris patents are related to touchscreens and fingerprints scanners. Neither company has said anything about a possible acquisition and it’s possible that Apple may not use the patents at all.
