The Facebook Messenger assistant won’t be like many other virtual assistants, which are powered by AI, but will instead have real people available for users to chat with. FB is currently testing the new feature internally and it’s unknown what it’s main goal for the service would be, reports Business Insider.

It’s possible that the new Facebook Messenger personal assistant could be to help users with their shopping efforts. The FB service is lead by PayPal CEO David Marcus and he’s been attempting to give it a greater focus on buying items, Business Insider notes.

Facebook Messenger has been getting some upgrades lately in the form of payment services. There are also rumors that games will be making their way to the service and it can now be used without a FB account.
