Recode reports that Twitter is working on a new product that would allow its users to go beyond the 140-character limit in Tweets. It cites unnamed sources in its report. Details about the new product aren’t available and it’s unknown if it will ever reach the public.

The new product that Twitter is working on to remove the 140-character limit from Tweets is being called “140 Plus.” Debate over the change is ongoing in the company with some just wanting to add a few characters to the limit. Others inside Twitter are interested in a huge expansion that could possibly be monetized, The Wall Street Journal notes.

Twitter has provided updates in the past that help its users get around the 140-character limit. This includes adding the “Retweet with Comment” feature, Twitter Cards and more. The social media company also recently removed the 140-character limit from Direct Messages, reports Recode.
