apple-rumors-liquidmetal-patent-aaplStudio: Apple (AAPL) will be showing off its secret design studio in a 60 Minutes piece, reports MacRumors. Journalist Charlie Rose was given a tour of the company’s design studio and the footage from that will be shown on Sunday. Rose’s tour through the design studio is given by AAPL’s Jony Ive. The 60 Minutes episode will also have Rose interviewing Angela Ahrendts, the tech company’s head of retail, to learn more about its “store of the future.”

Lawsuit: A class action lawsuit has been filed against Apple over its iPhone 5, AppleInsider notes. According to the lawsuit, the tech company released the iPhone 5 with a known defect that could cause high data usage. This defect is due to how iOS 6 interacted with the A6 processor in the smartphones and could cause the devices to disconnect from Wi-Fi sources. The problem was discovered shortly after the smartphone was released in 2012 and is also reportedly present in the iPhone 5s. The lawsuit claims AAPL made no effort to fix this issue until it released iOS 8.1 in late 2014.

Patent: A new Apple patent may hint at future iPhone features, reports International Business Times. This new patent is titled “Methods and Systems for Integrally Trapping a Glass Insert in a Metal Bezel.” It describes a method where a Liquidmetal bezel is heated and a glass display is inserted between it. After the bezel cools, it traps the display, which creates a device that has no gap between the two materials. The patent also says that glass wouldn’t have to be the only display material used in the process. This process could also possibly see use in computers and other devices made by the company.
