Friday Apple Rumors: Apple TV 5 May Enter Production in Early 2016

This poll, conducted by Piper Jaffray, shows that Apple (AAPL) will likely catch the eye of some customers if it releases the rumored iPhone 6c early next year. However, many more consumers are interested in larger smartphones. 31% preferred 4.7-inch devices and 27% said they like 5.5-inch smartphones. Another 21% of the 1,077 consumers that were surveyed said they want a smartphone that doesn’t match any of the previously mentioned sizes.

Beats: Users of Beats Music still have until Jan. 19, 2016 to transfer their data from the service, 9to5Mac notes. Beats Music users can transfer their playlists and music preferences over to Apple Music now that the Beats streaming service has officially shut down. The process only requires a few steps and it works for iOS and Android users. Those that are new to Apple Music also have the option of starting a free three-month trial of the service.

TV: A new rumor claims that the Apple TV 5 will enter production in early 2016, reports MacRumors. This rumor claims that trial production will start sometime this month and the main production will start early next year. If it turns out to be true, it could mean that the next generation of AAPL’s set-top box will be ready for release in late 2016. The rumor also claims that the new TV will have an upgraded processor that will allow it to work faster than the current version. The company is believed to be working on a way to disperse heat produced by the faster processor.
