MacBook: A new report claims that Apple’s (AAPL) redesigned MacBook won’t show up at the iPhone 7 announcement event, reports Bloomberg. According to this report, many of the new features rumored for the 2016 MacBook are happening. However, the report claims that the new laptop won’t be ready for the public eye in time for the iPhone 7 announcement event. This report also claims that the iPhone 7 will be announced on Sept. 7, which is when past rumors have claimed the event will occur.
Cases: Several Apple iPhone 7 cases are now available for preorder, 9to5Mac notes. Spigen and Olixar are two companies that have started accepting preorders for iPhone 7 cases. The case makers are also including iPhone 7 cases that match the Space Black color option that has been rumored. Many other companies have also started listing preorders for their iPhone 7 cases and most of them share the same basic design elements. This means that case makers are fairly certain about the major new features coming to the iPhone 7, such as the larger camera for the normal model and the dual-lens camera for the Plus version.
A10: Images of what appear to be the A10 chips for Apple’s iPhone 7 have appeared online, reports MacRumors. The images of the possible A10 chips showed up on Chinese social media website Weibo. The chips in the image have the same number of pins as the A9 chips. They also feature a 1628 date code. This would mean they were manufactured sometime July. The chips appear to be unfinsihed and don’t have all the same labels seen on previous AAPL chips.
