Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is testing a page that allows the company’s admins to post job listings.

FBThe move will pit the company in direct competition with other sites that offer professional services and job postings, such as LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD). The page will allow recruiters to receive resumes and applications from those looking for employment.

The social media site said that the move was brought to action after realizing that many small businesses have been struggling to get the word out there regarding open positions, and the move will make the process of applying much easier on consumers.

The jobs features allows companies to drive more traffic to their Facebook pages, and businesses will pay the company to ensure their openings is viewed by a larger number of applicants.

Recently, Facebook opened Marketplace, which is essentially the social media site’s equivalent to Craigslist. This was launched in October and it is available both on mobile and PC, listing products for sale and other services you can pay for.

You can link your PayPal account to Facebook as well, as the company decided to roll out a feature that allows you to make payments via the site in an easier and more convenient manner.

The move is designed “to help make mobile commerce smarter, simpler and more secure for consumers as well as merchants.”

FB shares gained 1.2%, while LNKD stock edged 0.6% higher Tuesday.
