Pokemon Go makers Niantic have revealed what you can get with the game’s new update.
Fans were excited about the potential to catch new Pokemon in the update as the game only carries most of the original 150 Pokemon. Fans have long been awaiting news on whether or not there would be legendaries or ones from Pokemon Gen 2, and only a small portion of their prayers have been answered.
There will be no legendaries that included some of the greatest Pokemon there have ever been, including Articuno, Mewtwo and Zapdos. However, there will be some Pokemon from Silver and Gold, which are the second generation of the series.
Only a handful of Gen 2 creations will appear on Pokemon Go with the update, including Pichu and Togepi. There’s a caveat as you cannot catch Pokemon found in the wild, but you can get them through eggs.
The game allows you to raise Pokemon using eggs, which hatch after you travel with them for an extended period of time. The news came as a great disappointment considering the potential from the second generation of Pokemon.
There are 100 possible Pokemon that the company could have launched to get fans excited, and this is what the people were expecting. It is unclear if Niantic will eventually add these to Pokemon Go.
The game’s makers have created strict rules surrounding bans on cheaters, ensuring that those who use third-party apps to cheat will be banned for life.
