Wednesday Apple Rumors: Apple Releases More Face ID Details

Face ID: A new document from Apple contains several details about Face ID, reports BGR. This new document answers several questions that customers have about Face ID. What we now know about the system is that is has a one in one million chance of failing. It also will have more trouble identifying the faces of twins or young children. We also know that users will still have to enter their passcode from time to time. The situations vary for this, but some instances include when the device has just been turned on, or hasn’t been unlocked in 48 hours.

iOS 11.1 Beta: The first  iOS 11.1 beta is now available to developers, MacRumors notes. This beta will give developers a chance to try out new features that may be coming in the next version of the mobile operating system. Apple held off on some iOS 11 features at launch and said they would make it into later updates. That may mean this update, or future ones. There are also likely going to be bug fixes for issues in the previous version of iOS 11.

watchOS 4.1 Beta: The developer beta for watchOS 4.1 is now live, reports 9to5Mac. This beta includes a couple of new features that Apple has been promising. This includes streaming for its Music app, as well as the Radio app. During the announcement of the Watch Series 3, AAPL said that these new features would make it to the device in October. This means we can likely expects watchOS 4.1 to exit its beta sometime next month.
