Here are your Apple news items and rumors for Wednesday:

Adobe in Apple’s Newsstand: Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) still might have a contentious relationship with Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) over the lack of support for its Flash media platform on the iPhone and iPad, but that hasn’t stopped it from releasing a plethora of products for those devices’ iOS operating system. The latest Adobe product for iOS is Digital Publishing Suite support for Apple’s Newsstand application. Newsstand is, as you might expect, a virtual magazine and newspaper store. Adobe’s Digital Publishing Suite is an application for designing and distributing electronic publications, and now the suite can automatically upload and update publications to Apple’s Newsstand. Publishers like Conde Nast already use Adobe’s suite for making iPad editions of its publications, and it will be a boon for both Apple and publishers to have those magazines in the Newsstand store.

Facebook Gets Shiny New iPhone App, iPad App Still AWOL: Facebook updated its iPhone app to version 3.5 on Tuesday, bringing with it a slew of new features that make the app closer in functionality to the full website. Users receive notifications faster and now can tag friends and locations in posts. While the update is good for many users, not to mention Facebook’s advertising partners, it begs the question: Where is the official iPad app from Facebook? The social networking company was expected to release its long-awaited iPad app during the summer, but it has yet to materialize.

Big iPhone and iPad Numbers in 2013: Surprise! The iPad and iPhone are going to sell well in the future. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster issued its forecast for Apple in the year 2013, and the future is looking bright indeed. According to a Wednesday report at Apple Insider, Munster predicts that Apple will rake in $164 billion in revenue that year, good for earnings per share of $40.50 — 10% higher than Wall Street’s expectation. The iPhone and iPad will continue to lead the company’s business with 143 million smartphones and 68 million tablets sold across the year.
