Amazon passes Apple in this year's rankings

For the first time, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is atop the Harris Interactive list of companies with the best reputation.

It’s the 14th year that Harris Interactive has conducted the survey, reports Business Insider. It asked more than 14,000 people about various aspects of the top 60 corporations in America.

Respondents were asked about six items in determining a company’s reputation: Social responsibility, emotional appeal, financial performance, products, vision and workplace environment all factored into the final ranking.

This year, Amazon beat out Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) for the top rank. Here are the top five.

  1. Amazon
  2. Apple
  3. Disney (NYSE:DIS)
  4. Google (NASDAQ:GOOG)
  5. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ)
