The company hasn’t yet announced how the potential changes would work with its small kitchens, which have previously been cited as the reason the early-morning menu couldn’t be extended, reports the Associated Press.

Select McDonald’s locations offer an “After Midnight” menu from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. in the morning. This menu has a limited number of both breakfast and lunch options to help the kitchen deal with serving from two different menus, reports the Associated Press.

McDonald’s may choose to extend when its breakfast menu is available little by little to gauge how kitchens handle the change. This could include extending breakfast hours to 11:00 a.m. from 10:30 a.m.

McDonald’s is also facing competition from other fast-food restaurants that are extending their breakfast options. One such restaurant is Yum Brands’ (YUM) Taco Bell, which has announced plans to launch its waffle taco nationwide.
