More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.2%, the Nasdaq pushed 0.4% higher and the S&P 500 increased 0.2%.
Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:
- RBC Bearings Inc (ROLL): ROLL stock is up 2.4% today.
- Cabot Corp (CBT): CBT stock is up 2.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Simpson Manufacturing Company (SSD): SSD stock is up 1.7% today.
- Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A. (SQM): SQM stock is up 1.5% today.
- Circor International (CIR): CIR stock is up 1.3% today.
- Hudbay Minerals Inc (HBM): HBM stock is up 1.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Freeport-Mcmoran Copper & Gold (FCX): FCX stock is up 1.3% today.
- Alcoa Inc (AA): AA stock is up 1.2% today.
- Albemarle Corp (ALB): ALB stock is up 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Precision Castparts Corp (PCP): PCP stock is up 1.1%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Copene-Petroquimica Do Nordeste (BAK): BAK stock is down 1.7% today.
- Cvr Partners LP Common Units R (UAN): UAN stock is down 1.5%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is down 1.3% today.
- Graphic Packaging Holding Company (GPK): GPK stock is down 1.1% today.
- Enpro Industries (NPO): NPO stock is down 1.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Greif Bros. Corp (GEF): GEF stock is down 1.0% today.
- Glatfelter (GLT): GLT stock is down 1.0% today.
- Air Products and Chemicals (APD): APD stock is down 0.9% today.
- Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd (HMY): HMY stock is down 0.8% today.
- International Paper Company (IP): IP stock is down 0.8% today.
