Yosemite: At its press conference held today, Apple (AAPLlaunched OS X Yosemite, reports 9to5Mac. During its press conference, the company revealed that OS X Yosemite will be available for download today through the Mac App Store. The new operating system will be free for users. OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and 10.9 Mavericks can upgrade to Yosemite, but there are some features of the new operating system that requires upgraded hardware. Yosemite includes several updates and changes to existing apps.

Pay: It was announced today that the Apple Pay feature will go live next week, MacRumors notes. The new feature will activate next Monday, Oct. 20, with the release of iOS 8.1. Owners of an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will be able to use the feature to make purchases in certain apps. The iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus will also be able to use the feature to make payments at physical locations with their NFC chips. Over 500 banks will support the feature.

Down: Apple has alerted developers that iTunes Connect will be down in the next couple of weeks, reports AppleInisder. iTunes Connect will be down for six hours starting at 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time on Sunday, Oct. 26. The downtime will leave developers unable to make changes to their apps released on the App Store. The service is typically used to update, change prices and make other tweaks to apps.
