Basic materials stocks advanced broadly on Wall Street on Tuesday morning, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 0.6%.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.2%, the Nasdaq pushed 1.8% higher and the S&P 500 increased 1.2%.
Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:
- Olin Corp (OLN): OLN stock is up 4.0% today.
- Innophos Holdings (IPHS): IPHS stock is up 2.2% today.
- Albemarle Corp (ALB): ALB stock is up 2.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS): KS stock is up 2.5% today.
- Precision Castparts Corp (PCP): PCP stock is up 1.9% today.
- Glatfelter (GLT): GLT stock is up 2.3% today.
- Trex Company (TREX): TREX stock is up 2.4% today.
- National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is up 2.5% today.
- Berry Plastics Group Inc (BERY): BERY stock is up 2.0% today.
- Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is up 2.1% today.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is down 7.8% today.
- Freeport-Mcmoran Inc. (FCX): FCX stock is down 5.1% today.
- Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF): CLF stock is down 1.8% today.
- Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is down 2.3% today.
- Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is down 3.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Hudbay Minerals Inc (HBM): HBM stock is down 3.3% today.
- Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is down 2.9% today.
- Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is down 1.9% today.
- Randgold Resources Limited (GOLD): GOLD stock is down 2.0% today.
- Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd (HMY): HMY stock is down 2.1% today.
