More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.1%, the Nasdaq declined 0.3% and the S&P 500 was down 0.1%.

- Silgan Holdings (SLGN): SLGN stock is up 4.5% today.
- Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd (ACH): ACH stock is up 4.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is up 1.7% today.
- Royal Gold (RGLD): RGLD stock is up 1.5% today.
- Kaiser Aluminum Corp (KALU): KALU stock is up 1.4% today.
- Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is up 1.1% today.
- Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is up 1.7% today.
- Ball Corp (BLL): BLL stock is up 0.5% today.
- Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN): BVN stock is up 1.4% today.
- Crown Cork & Seal Company (CCK): CCK stock is up 1.1% today.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Copene-Petroquimica Do Nordeste (BAK): BAK stock is down 3.4% today.
- Bhp Billiton Plc (BBL): BBL stock is down 2.3% today.
- Methanex Corp (MEOH): MEOH stock is down 2.3% today.
- Cameco Corp (CCJ): CCJ stock is down 2.6% today.
- Bhp Billiton Limited (BHP): BHP stock is down 1.6% today.
- Allegheny Technologies Inc (ATI): ATI stock is down 0.8% today.
- Anglogold Ashanti Ltd (AU): AU stock is down 1.3% today.
- Globe Specialty Metals Inc (GSM): GSM stock is down 1.2% today.
- Steel Dynamics (STLD): STLD stock is down 1.4% today.
