More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.5%, the Nasdaq increased 0.4% and the S&P 500 pushed 0.5% higher.
Some of the biggest gainers among energy stocks include:
- Compagnie Generale De Gephysqu (CGG): CGG stock is up 5.3% today and up 22.8% in the last month.
- Delek US Holdings (DK): DK stock is up 4.8% today.
- Breitburn Energy Partners L.P. (BBEP): BBEP stock is up 4.6% today.
- Linn Energy Llc (LINE): LINE stock is up 3.3% today.
- Penn West Petroleum Ltd (PWE): PWE stock is up 3.1% today and up 38.1% in the last month.
- Pacific Drilling S.A. (PACD): PACD stock is up 6.0% today and up 26.5% in the last month.
- Seadrill Limited (SDRL): SDRL stock is up 3.0% today and up 28.0% in the last month.
- Cenovus Energy Inc (CVE): CVE stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Cnooc Limited (CEO): CEO stock is up 2.7% today.
- Ultra Petroleum (UPL): UPL stock is up 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
Some of the biggest losers among energy stocks include:
- Yanzhou Coal Mining Company (YZC): YZC stock is down 2.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Tesoro Logistics LP Common Unit (TLLP): TLLP stock is down 0.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Synergy Resources Cp (SYRG): SYRG stock is down 0.6% today.
- Ross Group Plc (RGP): RGP stock is down 0.6% today.
- Plains All American Pipeline L.P. (PAA): PAA stock is down 0.3% today.
- IHS Inc (IHS): IHS stock is down 0.2% today.
- Talisman Energy Inc (TLM): TLM stock is down 0.3% today.
- Cimarex Energy Co (XEC): XEC stock is down 0.1% today.
