Friday, May 8 is Military Spouse Appreciation Day in 2015.
The day honors the sacrifices and support that spouses of members of the Armed Forces make every year. It is celebrated on the Friday before Mother’s Day.
The first time this day was celebrated was on May 23, 1984 when Ronald Reagan proclaimed the day as such in honor of military spouses. The date was then standardized in order to make it a yearly tradition.
