Stores: Apple (AAPL) is facing a class-action lawsuit from employees at its Apple Stores, reports MacRumors. The class-action lawsuit is being filed by employees at Stores located in California that had to undergo bag checks while off the clock. These employees claim that this caused them to have to wait an extra 10 minutes to 15 minutes before they could leave work. The lawsuit currently includes some 12,000 Store employees that are seeking damages for unpaid hours, overtime and other issues. The tech company has tried to argue that the case doesn’t deserve class-action status.
Beta: Apple has
released the first public beta of OS X 10.10.5, AppleInsider notes. The notes for the newly released betas notes that it will be bring “stability, compatibility, and security” to Yosemite. It’s believed that this update will be the last one before the tech company moves away from Yosemite. The new beta can be downloaded via the Mac App Store. However, users must be a registered in the Apple Beta Software Program to do so.
Patent: A new patent filed by Apple shows potential uses for solar energy with it’s products, reports 9to5Mac. The patent details a solar panel system that could be implemented into its displays on its mobile devices. This could lead to an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch that is able to charge it’s own battery just by being left out in the sun. The way the patent is worded, it also leaves room for MacBooks with track pads to have the technology included in them. It’ unknown if this patent will ever get any use from the tech company.
