NASA News: Water Flows on Mars

NASA news has revealed the discovery that there is flowing water on Mars.

Life on Mars

The NASA news states that it was able to discover evidence of flowing water on Mars with the help of its Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Researchers looked at light waves that were returned from dark lines across the planet. These lines returned light waves that are associated with chemicals that pull water from the planet’s atmosphere, reports CNN.

The NASA news also had scientists that pointed out that this discovery doesn’t mean that there is, or has been, life on Mars. It’s also not the first discovery of water on Mars. Scientists already know that there is frozen water located at the planet’s poles. It’s unknown where this flowing water comes from, but scientists are investigating the matter, CNN notes.

“Mars is not the dry, arid planet we thought of in the past,” Jim Green, NASA’s planetary science chief, told USA Today. “Under certain circumstances, liquid water has been found on Mars.”
