Pimco claims that former portfolio manager William Gross’ lawsuit against the company is “groundless.”
The former employee is suing the investment giant for $200 million, claiming his dismissal was “legally groundless.” Gross says Pimco owes him money.
“This suit is only the latest step in Mr. Gross’s effort to resurrect a personal reputation damaged by his own unacceptable behavior,” Pimco said in a statement.
The company did not mention this explicitly but it is widely believed within the company that Gross had a short fuse and he would occasionally raise his voice when talking to his colleagues.
Pimco says Gross “engaged in a pattern of conduct that was incompatible” with the company’s values.
