Netflix Socks Will Pause Your Show If You Fall Asleep

Netflix (NFLX) has released plans for a pair of Netflix socks.

The Netflix socks are a DIY project for binge watchers that have a bad habit of falling asleep during marathons. They require a bit of electronics know-how and some knitting skills are optional as well.

Here is a list of materials needed to create the Netflix socks.

  • Knit socks
  • Arduino Microcontroller
  • IR LEDs
  • LED Indicator Light
  • Battery
  • Momentary Button
  • Accelerometer
  • 12” x 12” piece of felt

The Netflix socks work by installing an accelerometer inside a pair of socks. This accelerometer can detect when a person isn’t moving their feet anymore and will send a signal to pause the streaming. It’s very accurate and can tell the difference between sitting idle and sleep.
