Janet Jackson may be facing throat cancer.
The singer-songwriter cancelled her “Unbreakable World Tour” with a scheduled show in Metro Detroit due to a potentially career ending health issue.
Jackson cancelled her tour in December 2015 and it was revealed that the reason behind her cancellation is because she needs surgery.
The reason for the surgery is the possibility that Jackson has a tumor which could be cancerous. “Doctors found a growth on Janet’s vocal cords that could be serious,” a source close to the singer said.
“It’s a medical condition that has to be taken care of immediately.”
“Surgery would be very complex, and followed by months of radiation treatment,” another source added.
It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring,” Jackson said.
There’s a possibility she’ll come back and perform then.
