The acquisition of Webpass by Fiber will help it expand its services to more areas. Webpass currently operates in 10 markets, which includes its hometown, Boston, Miami, Chicago and more.

Webpass will also help Google Fiber reach different types of customers following the acquisition. Webpass already has customers in apartment buildings and provides its services to businesses, which is important for Fiber’s expansion.

Google Fiber didn’t announce any of the financial details of the deal. It’s expected to be completed during the summer following approval from regulators.
